The gyrokinetic toroidal code (GTC) is a massively parallel, particle-in-cell code for simulations of turbulence and transport in fusion plasmas such as ITER. GTC, currently being developed in a national collaboration and maintained at UC Irvine, is the production code of DOE SciDAC projects GPS and GSEP. GTC is currently an early application code for the 1.6PF supercomputer (jaguar) at ORNL, a benchmark code for CRAY and NERSC, and part of the code suite for the critical study of applications and architectures designated by DOE ASCR.
