Final announcement on

The Joint Meeting of the 4th Workshop on Nonlinear Plasma Sciences and International School of Plasma Turbulence and Transport

The Joint Meeting of the 4th Workshop on Nonlinear Plasma Sciences and

International School of Plasma Turbulence and Transport holds Tuesday, August 30 – Saturday, September 3 in Hangzhou, China, immediately after the 10th National Conference on Plasma Sciences in Shanghai.  The conference webpage is: http://gk.ps.uci.edu/zlin/hangzhou/index.htm

To make preparation for the International School, the Nonlinear Workshop consists of reviews and tutorial talks on three areas:

Laser-plasma interactions, Space and solar plasma physics, and Magnetically
confined fusion plasma physics.

The purpose of the International School is to enhance education of general fusion sciences, training of theoretical/computational plasma physicists, and theory collaborations between ITER partners. The focus of this year is on turbulence and transport in fusion plasmas. Specific topics include:

Nonlinear gyrokinetics and turbulence theory, numerical simulation of plasma turbulence, and wave, turbulence, and transport.

The Tentative Program of the Workshop:

1. Laser-plasma interaction:

He, Xian-Tu (IAPCM), Sheng, Zheng-Ming (IoP, CAS), C. Ren (Rochester U)

2. Space and solar plasma physics:

Wang, Shui* (USTC), Xiao, Chi-Jie (NAO, CAS), Cao Jin-Bin* (or Shi, Jian-Kui, CASSR, CAS), C. Crabtree (UCI)

3. Magnetically confined fusion:
